Twilight Struggle:The Cold War Board Game

Step into one of the most tense periods of modern history with Twilight Struggle: The Cold War, 1945–1989. Play as either the United States or the Soviet Union and compete for political influence across the globe. Use historical Event cards, strategic operations, coups, realignment, and the Space Race to expand your influence and control key regions. Every card presents a difficult choice, because events may benefit your opponent as much as they benefit you.

🎲 How to Play

1. Choose Your Superpower 🇺🇸🇷🇺
   One player controls the United States, while the other controls the Soviet Union.
2. Set Up the World Map 🌍
   Place the influence markers according to the starting setup. The map covers major regions including Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Central America, and South America.
3. Draw Your Cards 🃏
   Players receive a hand of Event cards representing real historical developments from the Cold War era.
4. Play a Card 🎴
   During your action rounds, play cards either for their Event or for Operations Points. This creates one of the game's biggest strategic challenges: a card may contain an event that helps your opponent.
5. Expand Your Influence 🗺️
   Spend Operations Points to place influence in countries, strengthen your position, or challenge your opponent's influence.
6. Attempt Coups & Realignments ⚔️
   Use Operations to attempt coups in countries or conduct realignment rolls to reduce your opponent's influence.
7. Compete in the Space Race 🚀
   Send cards to the Space Race instead of using their normal effects. Advancing in the Space Race can provide valuable benefits while keeping dangerous events out of play.
8. Watch DEFCON ☢️
   Military actions can increase global tension and lower the DEFCON level. If DEFCON reaches nuclear war, the game can immediately end—so aggressive play can come with enormous risks.
9. Score the Regions 🏆
   Regional scoring cards determine who has the stronger position in areas around the world. Controlling important countries and achieving presence or domination can generate major Victory Points.
10. Fight for Global Supremacy 🌎
    Continue playing through the Cold War as influence shifts between the superpowers. The player who gains the most Victory Points—or fulfills the appropriate victory condition—wins the struggle.
