Build Your Rail Empire. Complete Your Routes. Race Across the Map!
Rediscover the classic Ticket to Ride experience with the refreshed edition of this award-winning railway adventure!
In Ticket to Ride, players collect matching colored Train Cards, claim railway routes across the map, and complete Destination Tickets connecting cities around the world. Every route you claim can help your network ā but it can also block an opponent's plans.
š How to Play
1. Choose Your Train Color
Each player chooses a color and takes the matching set of 45 plastic Train Cars and scoring marker.
Place your scoring marker on the starting space of the scoring track.
2. Collect Train Cards
On your turn, you can draw 2 Train Car cards from the face-up display or the deck.
Train Cards come in different colors and are used to claim railway routes.
Locomotive cards act as wild cards and can represent any color.
3. Claim Railway Routes
When you have enough matching Train Cards, you can claim an available route between two cities.
Pay the required cards, place your Train Cars on the route, and immediately score points based on its length.
Longer routes generally provide more points ā but waiting too long can allow another player to take the connection you need!
4. Draw Destination Tickets
Destination Tickets show two cities that you must connect.
At the beginning of the game, you receive Destination Tickets and must decide which ones you want to keep.
During your turn, you can also draw additional Destination Tickets.
Complete them to earn bonus points ā but unfinished tickets cost you points at the end of the game.
5. Build Your Network
Connect cities across the map and create a railway network that helps you complete your Destination Tickets.
Look for opportunities to claim important routes before your opponents do.
Sometimes the shortest route isn't the best route ā blocking an opponent or creating a longer connection can be just as valuable.
6. Score Long Routes
Players can earn additional points for creating exceptionally long continuous railway connections.
The player with the longest continuous path earns the Longest Continuous Path bonus at the end of the game.
7. Trigger the Final Round
When a player has 2 or fewer Train Cars remaining after their turn, every player ā including that player ā gets one final turn.
Then everyone reveals their Destination Tickets and calculates their final scores.
8. Become the Railway Champion š
Add:
- Points earned from claimed routes
- Bonus points for the longest continuous path
- Points from completed Destination Tickets
- Subtract points for unfinished Destination Tickets
The player with the highest final score wins!
