1. Root – Fight for Control of the Woodland

• Choose your faction: Each player leads a unique faction with its own abilities, playstyle, and victory conditions.

• Build your empire: Recruit warriors, establish buildings, and control clearings across the Woodland.

• Battle your rivals: Fight opponents, capture territory, and disrupt their plans.

• Craft and score: Use cards and faction abilities to gain victory points and strengthen your position.

• Race to victory: Be the first player to reach 30 victory points or fulfil your faction's special victory condition.

2. Add The Underworld Expansion

Play as the Underground Duchy

• Lead an imperial faction rising from beneath the Woodland.

• Build tunnels, recruit warriors, and establish your underground kingdom.

• Influence powerful ministers to unlock more actions and expand your reach.

Play as the Corvid Conspiracy

• Use clever plots and deception to disrupt your opponents.

• Place hidden plot tokens, including raids, bombs, snares, and extortion.
