Pokémon Splendor combines the elegant strategy of the classic Splendor board game with the world of Pokémon. Instead of collecting gemstones, players collect colourful Poké Balls and use them to catch Pokémon, build their collection, and evolve Pokémon into stronger forms.
Build your Pokémon collection, earn permanent Poké Ball bonuses, compete for valuable Rare and Legendary Pokémon, and carefully manage your resources to reach 18 points before your opponents.
🎯 How to Play
1. ⚪ Collect Poké Balls
On your turn, choose an available action and collect Poké Balls from the supply.
You can generally:
- Take 3 Poké Balls of different colours
- Take 2 Poké Balls of the same colour, provided there are enough of that colour available
These Poké Balls are your resources for catching Pokémon.
2. 🐾 Catch Pokémon
Choose a Pokémon available in the display and pay the required combination of Poké Balls.
Once caught, place the Pokémon in your collection.
Each Pokémon can provide:
- ⭐ Victory Points
- ⚪ A permanent Poké Ball bonus
These permanent bonuses make future Pokémon easier and cheaper to catch.
3. 📕 Reserve a Pokémon
You can reserve a Pokémon that you want to catch later.
The reserved Pokémon is kept for you so another player cannot take it first. Reserving also gives you a Master Ball, which can act as a wild Poké Ball when catching Pokémon.
4. 🔄 Evolve Your Pokémon
This is one of the biggest differences from classic Splendor.
If the next stage of one of your Pokémon is available in the display and you meet its requirements, you can evolve that Pokémon.
Evolution can give you:
- ⭐ More Victory Points
- ⚪ Additional Poké Ball bonuses
- 🧩 A stronger Pokémon collection
Plan your collection carefully so that your Pokémon can evolve at the right moment.
5. 🌟 Catch Rare Pokémon
Pokémon Splendor introduces Rare Pokémon that provide stronger permanent bonuses.
Rare Pokémon can provide two permanent Poké Ball symbols, helping you build your resource engine faster.
6. 🔥 Catch Legendary Pokémon
Legendary Pokémon are among the most valuable cards in the game.
They provide powerful rewards and require a Master Ball as part of their cost.
Getting the right resources at the right time can give you a major advantage.
7. 🏆 Reach 18 Points
The game ends after a player reaches 18 or more points, with the remaining players completing the final round so everyone has had an equal number of turns.
The player with the most points wins and becomes the ultimate Pokémon Master!
