Build Your Moon Colony. Survive the Chaos. Keep Your People Alive!

Humanity has finally established cities on the Moon—but everything that can go wrong will go wrong.

Moon Colony Bloodbath is a strategic engine-building and engine-losing tableau game from designer Donald X. Vaccarino, where players develop lunar colonies while a shared deck continuously introduces new opportunities, disasters, robots, and unexpected twists.

Mine resources, grow food, research new technologies, construct buildings, and improve your colony—but be prepared for hunger, accidents, leaks, power failures, paperwork, glitches, and malfunctioning robots. Your carefully built engine can collapse at any moment.

🎮 How to Play

1. Build Your Colony

Each player begins with a Moon Base and a population of colonists. Develop your personal tableau by acquiring Building Cards that provide useful abilities and production.

2. Take Actions

When a Work card is revealed, everyone chooses an action simultaneously. You can:

  • 💰 Mine for money
  • 🌾 Farm for food
  • 🔬 Research to gain more cards
  • 🏗️ Build new buildings
  • 📦 Restock boxes on buildings

Choose carefully because your colony needs the right balance of people, money, food, and resources to survive.

3. Reveal the Shared Progress Deck

A card is revealed from the shared deck every turn. Some cards help your colonies develop, while others introduce increasingly dangerous problems.

4. Survive the Trouble

Trouble cards add new events to the deck, including disasters such as hunger, accidents, leaks, power failures and other catastrophes.

Once these events enter the deck, they can come back whenever the deck is reshuffled.

5. Add New Twists & Developments

Players can add cards to the shared deck, including Perks that benefit individual players and Developments that can affect everyone.

This means the players themselves help shape the future dangers and opportunities of the colony.

6. Keep Your Colonists Alive

Your ultimate goal isn't simply to build the most impressive colony—it's to keep the most people alive.

The game ends when one colony loses all its people or when the players reach the end of the Event deck. The player with the most surviving colonists wins.
