Lead a Great House and fight for control of Arrakis in Dune: Imperium, a deeply strategic board game that combines deck-building and worker placement. Gather resources, deploy troops, influence powerful factions, and compete for Victory Points. Every decision can change the balance of power across the Imperium.
Players: 1–4 | Age: 14+ | Play Time: 90–120 minutes
🎮 How to Play
1. Choose Your Leader
Each player chooses a Leader representing one of the Great Houses. Your Leader provides unique abilities that can shape your strategy throughout the game.
2. Build Your Deck
Each player begins with a 10-card starting deck. As the game progresses, acquire new cards to make your deck stronger and specialize in different strategies.
3. Draw Your Hand
At the beginning of each round, draw 5 cards. Each card can generally be used in two different ways, giving you important choices throughout the round.
4. Send Your Agents
Play a card to send an Agent to a corresponding space on the board. These spaces allow you to gather resources, recruit troops, gain influence, obtain Intrigue cards, and pursue other strategic advantages.
Your choice of card determines where your Agent can go, so building your deck carefully is essential.
5. Compete for Influence
Work your way up the influence tracks of four major factions:
- 👑 Emperor
- 🚀 Spacing Guild
- 🧙 Bene Gesserit
- 🏜️ Fremen
Gaining influence can provide Victory Points and other advantages, while forming alliances can become a major part of your path to victory.
6. Fight for Arrakis
Each round features a new Conflict. Deploy your troops and use your military strength to compete for valuable rewards. Decide carefully which battles are worth committing your forces to—you don't want to spread your army too thin.
7. Reveal Your Remaining Cards
After you have placed your Agents, reveal your remaining cards. These provide Persuasion for purchasing new cards and Swords that contribute to your military strength for the current Conflict.
8. Acquire New Cards
Use your Persuasion to purchase cards from the Imperium market. Stronger cards improve your future turns and allow you to develop a specialized strategy.
9. Resolve the Round
Resolve the Conflict and award its rewards, then clean up the board and prepare for the next round. The game continues as players build stronger decks, gain influence, and compete for control of Arrakis.
🏆 10. Win the Game
Your goal is to earn enough Victory Points through combat, political influence, alliances, and strategic card play. The player who achieves the winning Victory Point total and has the strongest position at the end of the game becomes the dominant power on Arrakis.
