dnup is a fast, clever, and highly interactive card game where timing is everything. Your goal is simple: be the first player to get rid of all the cards in your hand.
But there's a twist — the numbers on your cards can change when you flip them! Play combinations, challenge your opponents' sets, steal cards from the table, and rotate your entire hand to turn the game in your favor.
.
🎯 How to Play
1. 🃏 Start With Your Hand
Each player receives a hand of cards. Every card has two different values, one on each end. The value currently facing you determines the card's active number.
You can rearrange the order of cards in your hand, but you don't normally rotate individual cards unless an action tells you to.
2. 🎴 Play Cards to the Table
On your turn, you can play one or more cards from your hand.
You can play:
- A single card
- Multiple cards showing the same value
The cards you play form a combination in front of you.
3. ⚔️ Challenge Your Opponents
Your combinations can interact with the combinations already in front of other players.
If you play the same number of cards as another player's set, your combination needs to have a higher value to overpower it.
Successfully beating an opponent can force their played cards to be flipped and returned to their hand — giving them more cards to deal with!
4. ➕ Add to an Opponent's Set
You can also add a card to another player's combination.
This can create new opportunities to disrupt the table and potentially force another player's cards back into their hand.
5. 🔄 Flip the Table
One of the most important twists in dnup is the ability to rotate cards and change their values.
When cards are flipped, their opposite number becomes active, completely changing what combinations they can form.
A weak combination can suddenly become powerful — or a seemingly safe set can become vulnerable.
6. 🖐️ Take Cards From the Table
Instead of always attacking, you can take a combination from another player.
The cards are rotated before being added to your hand, changing their active values and giving you new possibilities for future turns.
7. 🧠 Time Your Moves
The key to dnup isn't simply getting rid of cards.
You need to decide when to attack, when to build combinations, when to take cards, and when to flip your hand.
A well-timed move can completely change the situation.
8. 🏆 Empty Your Hand First
The first player to successfully empty their hand earns 2 points.
The second player to empty their hand earns 1 point.
Continue playing rounds until a player reaches at least 4 points. The player with the most points wins!
