Step into the world of medieval France with Carcassonne, the award-winning classic tile-laying board game designed by Klaus-Jürgen Wrede. Build an ever-expanding landscape of walled cities, winding roads, monasteries and peaceful fields, then strategically place your followers to claim these features and score points.

Every tile you place changes the landscape and creates new opportunities. Will you complete your own city, connect a valuable road, establish a monastery, or send your followers into the fields for points later in the game?

🎮 How to Play

1. Set Up the Landscape

Place the starting tile in the center of the table and shuffle the remaining land tiles face down. Each player chooses a color and takes their followers, or meeples.

2. Draw & Place a Tile

On your turn, draw one land tile and add it to the growing landscape. The edges must connect correctly — roads connect to roads, cities to cities and fields to fields.

3. Place a Meeple

After placing your tile, you may place one of your available meeples on a feature of that tile:

  • 🏰 City → Your meeple becomes a Knight
  • 🛣️ Road → Your meeple becomes a Thief
  • Monastery → Your meeple becomes a Monk
  • 🌾 Field → Your meeple becomes a Farmer

4. Complete Features & Score

When a road, city or monastery is completed, players score points based on the feature and their meeples are returned to their supply for future turns.

5. Watch Your Opponents

Players can sometimes compete for control of the same feature. Carefully choosing where to place your meeples can make a major difference.

6. Final Scoring

Once all land tiles have been placed, unfinished features and fields are scored according to the game's final-scoring rules.

The player with the most points wins!
