Build the tallest and most valuable towers in this exciting bidding and strategy card game. In 5 Towers, players compete to win cards from the central display, then carefully arrange them into up to five different towers. Every tower must be built from the same type of card, with values decreasing from bottom to top. The challenge is knowing how many cards to bid for without taking more than you can use.

Players: 2–5 | Age: 7+ | Playing Time: 15–30 minutes | Cards: 110

🎮 How to Play

1. Set Up

Shuffle the cards and place them face down as the draw deck. Reveal 5 cards into the center of the table. These five cards are available for bidding.

2. Bid for Cards

Starting with the first player, each player announces how many of the 5 available cards they want to take—from 0 to 5.

Players take turns increasing the bid or passing. The player with the highest bid wins and must take exactly that number of cards.

💡 Think carefully! Winning more cards isn't always better because you must be able to build those cards into your towers.

3. Build Your Towers

You can build up to 5 towers, one for each tower type.

When placing cards:

  • Cards in the same tower must be the same type.
  • Each new card must normally have a lower number than the card beneath it.
  • Once a card has been placed, its position cannot normally be changed.

For example:

15 → 12 → 8 → 5 → 2

is a valid tower.

4. Use Special Cards

Certain numbers have special abilities:

  • 9: Can be placed on top of almost any card of the same type.
  • 8: Allows a card of any lower or higher value to be placed on it.
  • 0: Acts as a tower top and cannot be removed.

5. Renovate a Tower

After winning a bid, you may tear down the top card of one tower to make room for a new card.

However, demolished cards go into your teardown pile and cost you points at the end of the game, so use this ability carefully. A 0 card cannot be torn down.

6. Start the Next Round

After building, discard any cards left in the display and reveal 5 new cards. The next player becomes the starting player and a new bidding round begins.

The deck is reshuffled when it runs out for the first time. The game ends when it runs out for the second time.
